Flame Fix® KST3

kerstboomProduct description

Flame Fix® KST3 is a safe and user friendly product specially developed for flame reducing impregnating of Christmas trees and holiday ornaments. After impregnating, these materials will do to IS 6940 & 6941 and the new European (NEN) norm 1101 & 1102 and the new European norm NTA 8007:2007.

Treatment prospection

Flame Fix® KST3 can be applied with a spray device with a pressure between 3 and 5 bars. A flower spray with a pump system or tricker mechanism will do fine.

The product needs to be sprayed finely over the material with an average distance of about 20 centimeters from the object. After proper treatment the material should be moist. We recommend that after the treatment, the material should dry in a hanging position.

For proper treatment 1 ltr Flame Fix® KST3 should be enough for 6 till 10 m2 wood (nevertheless this depends on the thickness and the type of wood). With some types of wood it is necessary to treat the wood two times. Our advice is to take a small piece of the material as a sample, to get an idea of the desired result. After the fire resistant treatment with Flame Fix® KST3, it is not necessary to paint ore coat the wood.

Flame Fix® KST3 is a ready to use product and can’t be thinned. Also this product is soluble in water. This means that whenever the treated product comes in contact with water the material needs to be treated again.

TNO fire test

Fire Resistant let TNO conduct a fire test. The Christmas tree is treated with KST3. The decorations are not. Manufacturers of trees and decorations will comply with ISO en EU norms after treatment with Flame Fix KST3.
